imperfectly_lou 1,102
Depending on the size of your extra "fat" there are ways of using fillers to "lift" up your face and do a semi-facelift. The cosmetic nurse I see says she sometimes does this with her older patients but their chin is more to do with gravity than actual fat.
Lisi 0
Kybella is not available yet in Australia. I would like to have my double chin removed. Has anyone had the procedure done? Has anyone tried to coolsculpting?
Deanna 2
Hi All, I too had the problem of the hereditary 'double chin' and now, as I've just passed the 30 mark, the family jowls are forming. Cant win! When I was 25 I had liposuction done on the underside of my chin to remove the extra fat and it worked incredibly well. The skin was super tight (not uncomfortably tight) and I had a more defined jaw line, that was near non-existent to begin with. My face finally matched my slender body! As time passed and I approached my 30's, the amount of collagen began to deplete, gravity set in and my double chin came back with vengeance. In order to fix this problem, I began using dermal fillers to define my jaw line, plump my cheeks and ultimately lift and tighten my sagging lower half of my face. The filler in my cheeks acted as a type of 'coat hanger' to lift the drooping skin on the underside of my chin.I went overboard to say the least. Spent literally thousands over the years to keep my face looking smooth and tight.Botox helped also. Having injections directly into my double chin, lifted the droop. But once again, this was only a temporary fix to a problem I was born with as such. From the 1st January of 2016, I have vowed to let all of my filler dissolve/adsorb, and in 6 months time (or possibly earlier depending on how long the filler takes to disappear) will have a mid-face-lift to 'correct' the error made in my mid 20's. In short, I don't regret have the lipo done some years ago, however, if I was better educated then, I may have chosen differently. I've spent so much money, time and effort on obsessing over my face, it almost wasn't worth it. I hope my experience helps with your decision All the very best. kiwibird 9
Hi Deanna, I'm in your exact same position except I've done nothing to the returned double chin except stare at it day in day out wanting to fix it. The area of fat I had removed is now just a sagging empty pocket and its gross. I also have hereditary chubby cheeks so these are turning into not so cute jowels.I'm currently exploring options for a mini neck lift and waiting for a consult on the 28 Jan and possibly with a another surgeon for price comparison. If I could give any advice, I'd get lipo with a lift as well to avoid that sag later on. Edited January 14, 2024 by kiwibird typo

Karrie0996 0
My surgeon was really good at facial lipo and he is truly artist! Only one thing I had my surgery at S. Korea. but I can give advise though.
