Imogen-L 4
I'm thinking of getting my implants removed. I've had them for 3 years now and just don't want them anymore. Can anyone recommend a good surgeon on the Gold Coast? Thanks girls x

TheFox 101
Hi @Imogen-L do you have a particular reason why you want them out? I had mine taken out last year (October) and I have to say it has been a huge relief. I was suffering pain and inflammation from my implant though so I think my feelings of elation have a lot to do with the fact that I am no longer in pain. Any plastic surgeon on the gold coast will be able to remove your implants for you. Because I had a medical need for removal, a lot of my costs were covered by my private health insurance. Where did you get them done? I would recommend visiting your original surgeon to have them removed
Imogen-L 4
Thanks @TheFox I've had them in for 4 years now and although i love them and they look great, the more in read about Textured implants and the type of Lymphoma that may be linked to it i think its really not worth having them if i am constantly worrying about that. I know it is rare, about 1/5000 but to me that still seems alot. I have 2 beautiful kids who i want to spend my life with, healthy and happy. I've been in contact with my Sydney surgeon and she will do it for me which im so happy about. I wonder if more and more women are having their breast implants removed because of this??? How do you breast look after your surgery? I had small breasts to start with and only had 330cc put in so im hoping mine wont be too bad after the op. xx

BreastsToBe 30
Hi Imogen, I have Silimed textured implants and REALLY want mine out due to the cancer risk. I wanted them out a year ago before I’d heard of the cancer risk but fell pregnant before I could have the surgery. Like you, I’m now more motivated to act. I have two beautiful children also and although the risk seems low to some, it’s not one I’m personally willing to take! I wonder if private health will cover any because of the risks..? Probably not. Which implants do you have? Have you scheduled your explant surgery?
