Revision and smaller implants -advice please

Recommended Posts

Hi y’all xx

Im considering a revision procedure as my augment in 2014 has never been perfect in my mind (I know I know, sisters not twins). My left breast is weighted more heavily in the top, so I don’t like the side profile. I started with tiny empty a cups so I am pleased to have boobs but not pleased with the look in a boob tube for example.

surgeon has offered a discounted revision for a smaller size... has anyone done this before? Do you think a smaller implant will settle lower?

Hey I recently downsized (5 months ago). I always felt that the implants were too big for me and I didn't like the projection. My skin has tightened up nicely. My surgeon put sutures at the lower borders of the capsule to help support the smaller implant. They look great! I only downsized by 75cc and switched from HP to mod+. Of course, how well they recover depends on your skin elasticity, how much natural droop you have, how long you've had the implants, etc. I found looking at explant and downsize without lift photos on real self gave me an idea of how skin retracts and improves over time.

I was planning on downsizing but it turns out mine was micro ruptured and causing seroma in the weeks leading to my revision surgery so we opted to remove them and wait 12 months before replacing them. I just hit 12 months last week and have been told that i can go as small as i want now as the pocket is all healed.

@TheFox It's been 12 months already?! Wow, that's gone fast.

I know right - I cant actually believe how much my breasts have changed in that time - not even in a hurry to get new implants to be honest - sitting at a solid B cup as I believe the pill i am on has helped them grow a little bit

Oh wow that 12 months went fast, so do you think you'll get them done again or are you liking your breasts the way they are now.

im not in any hurry to be honest - i dont love my breasts, I dont hate them because i dont really need to look at them.

I do like that I can wear things like t shirts and dresses out of the stretchy material and not need to wear a bra. I will say though, I got a lot of negative comments when I posted a picture on my instagram in a bikini as i look much thinner with no breasts even though I weigh the same as the day i had them out

Thats really interesting you say that @TheFox , in some things i look good and i have a waist but if i wear something that is a little floaty i can look a good 8 kg heavier. Without boobs i looked like i had no waist but did look thinner so i get what you mean.

with all body types it is about dressing for your body and certainly there are things that dont look flattering on when you have no breasts so I think it is just one of those things.

Ive not had any negative comments until ive been in a bikini or a crop where my bones are more visible - but honestly, if my ribs offend people they can look away. it is funny how breasts though can make you look just a little healthier and i miss that

I completely agree @TheFox I looked so much thinner before I had implants and even downsizing has made me appear a lot slimmer again. And yes, I know what you mean about them making you look healthier and less skeletal. You can be the exact same weight with bones sticking out but if you have some boobs on you, people will say you look great. Take away the boobs and people go 'omg, you're sick!'
