Cupcake85 485
I have a small hole underneath my crease incision and a swab test confirmed staphylococcus aureus and Acinetobacter baumannii infections. I’m on my second course of antibiotics but I’m feeling a bit freaked out. The hole still hasn’t scabbed over, I’m not sure how long it’s supposed to take. I see my surgeon and his nurse again Monday. margaretriver 20
Oh no hun that’s terrible! They will reasses the wound once the infection has cleared up. How long is the “hole”? Hoping for quick recovery!! Yes

Maybe the length of a grain of raw rice. I should have stayed off google. I googled because I’ve never heard of Acinetobacter baumannii and I’ve read that plus staph are superbugs resistant to many antibiotics. I’m so glad that I called health direct for advice who told me to go see a gp immediately.
vlinder 603
PLEASE stay on top of this !!! I have had a LOT of problems with this (as per my story) and now, can't have more 'cosmetic' surgery ,.too risky. But the good thing was, with my surgeon we got eventually on top of it. I’ve been back to the walk in clinic and still have a temperature. I’ve been prescribed even more antibiotics. margaretriver
vlinder 603
yes, that's to be expected , and for starter's , the normal regime to follow. As a normal practice you should be on it for 3 month. My thoughts are with you , xo margaretriver and Cupcake85

Cupcake85 485
My surgeon saw me today along with his nurse and they were both happy with how I’m looking. Keep on top of taking my antibiotics and a follow up in another week. Basically because I had a spitting stitch (dissolvable) the bacteria was able to get in. sabP
