RevisionGirl reacted to efmxoxo in My experience with Dr. Revis!
So I have returned from having my breast revision done 3 weeks ago by Dr. Revis over in the US. Let me tell you, he did the most AMAZING job, completely exceeded my expectations.
After going to consults with 4 other PS in Sydney I still didn't feel 100% with any of them. I nearly booked in with Steven Liew but at the last minute, looked into Dr. Revis. I put the idea to my partner and once he was on board that was it.
I emailed Dr. Revis a long email with photos about my complications, fears and what I'd ultimately like to acheive. He responded within a few hours, and it was so extensive and detailed. I was so so impressed, even though he was so far away, I thought he was better than any surgeon here in Sydney.
He quoted me $10750, which was around $14000 AUD. This included everything, so doctors fee, hospital, garment, anesthetist etc.
He did a bilateral capsulectomy, internal bra with permanent sutures, implant exchange from 375cc furry Brazilians to 800cc Mentor smooth high profile silicone and a donut mastopexy. So a lot of work, but as soon as I met him I knew he was the doctor for me.
All I wanted since the moment I had my first breast augmentation all those years ago was nice cleavage. I have always been told that I would never be able to have cleavage due to me having a very wide gap, but Dr Revis said he could give me to 1 finger gap I wanted. And he did!! I still can't believe it.
We went on holiday to LA, Las Vegas then finally ended the trip in Miami where I had the surgery. Recovery was amazing as I was sitting poolside in the sun.
I had my pre op on the Thursday, surgery on Friday then post op the following Tuesday. After the post op we flew straight back to Sydney. Once your finished surgery you are given his mobile to call anytime of day. You can also email him and he is guaranteed to respond within 1 hour (not even a joke). He is a man who lives and breathes his job.
The pain wasn't as bad compared to my first augmentation, even with the internal bra. I have started massage and using the scar treatment. He has made them look perfect and there will be hardly any scarring. I cannot stop looking at them.
I know alot of the girls on here talk about going to see him, and I have to tell you... It's 110% worth it. I finally have the boobies I have always wanted.

You have to remember that some people just love the attention. Or also take to the media when they haven’t done their research and things go badly.
The media is rubbish.

Hey hun, it's just the media - don't worry too much, it's only a very tiny number of girls being quoted in amongst the thousands who have had a BA and are perfectly happy. The media always love to sensationalise things...

I'd say go with your gut, but a 300 cc jump is pretty substantial so im sure it will be noticeable. As for the fitness for the first w wks I'd just right them off as healing time then when you're cleared for exercise try to walk as much as possible but for the first two weeks just make sure your diet is full of fresh fruit n vegies and a lean protein source, lots of water try to stay away from anything processed that way you are giving your body the nutrients it needs to heal and also the healthier version processed foods.

It's all about the diet. I'm a fitness freak myself and I can tell you that during these type of "down" periods, it was diet related and I didn't gain weight. Make sure you watch what you eat, it is 80% diet and 20% exercise (as we age). I used to laugh at those stats but I can see it now. Make sure you eat healthy - get a good trainer who has a good meal plan as well.
Can I ask who you are booked in with? I'm having my revision the same month as you.

That is awesome with your upcoming surgery. Remember to eat light so that the body puts its energy into healing you rather than into the digestive process. I halved the size of my meals once I felt like eating properly again. I am a gym junkie too so I understand the difficult mental battle when exercise can't be done. On day 5 after surgery, I went for a slow walk. Then each day I gained more energy to walk faster. I made a fitness plan with my surgeon about when to go back to exercise and when I could do that. This really helped my mind so that every little bit of exercise I was allowed to do felt like great achievable goal.

@RevisionGirl even though it will be your second BA you are going under the musc so the recovery will be a little more uncomfortable as your surgeon will have to release part of your muscle off your chest wall. Yes i run and at first it felt a little weird but as long as i wear a good supportive sports bras the girls are fine, i still however feel my chest contract over my implants doing certain exercises like push ups and chatangras (yoga moves) . I'm sure you will be fine ?

Hi hun its only the direct chest exercises like chest press, flys and dips that i avoid. I too am like you and like to have toned arms so i modify my push ups and dips so i don't engage to much of my chest, everything else in pump or the gym is fine as your chest is an assisting muscle i also avoid pull ups (chin ups) as i find it puts to much stress on my chest that being said i have anatomicals so it might be different for rounds. Best thing to do is check with your surgeon as they will be better to advise what you should shouldn't do.

RevisionGirl reacted to sabP in Roll call - Surgery Dates for 2018!
Two weeks may be too early, but your photos are of concern. It is hard to say how long, we are not surgeons and can't advise you. But as @JD* suggested, put your photo up on the Real Self forum and ask for a surgeon's opinion/advice. If you do require revision surgery I strongly recommend that you do NOT go back to that same surgeon in Thailand. You would be better off saving and having revision with a qualified and skilled plastic surgeon at home. Having extra surgery is more risky and more potential for things to go wrong and you want to be in the best possible hands if that is how it turns out. Money may be tight, but this is your body and well-being and that does not have a price!

RevisionGirl reacted to I HaveBoobs in Side Boobs
Hi @BAM , i would be asking your surgeon but from memory you and i have the same surgeon. Sam knows what i do for a job but did say it was best to avoid heavey chest workouts as it will atrophy (build up) the chest muscles making them tighter and over a period of time (didnt say how long) those tight chet muscles will push your implants to the side causing lateral dispacement (an usually large cleavage gap) .
This is why i avoid anything heavier than 10 kg total on a pump bar i don't do chest flys any more, i modify dips and keep my knees directly under my hips during push ups sa these exercises activate to much of your chest area i no longer train my chest in the gym either as i dont want to end up having to have revision surgery in the future to put my implants back whete they used to be, I also have many friends in the fitness industry that have noticed a shift in their implants by doing heavey chest exercises and one who is only 4 yrs post op. I dont want to scare you but its body mechanics when you think about where your implant is placed in relation to your chest muscles it makes sense, also if you stand najed from the waist up place your hands on your hips and press your palms inwards contacting your chest you will see your implants shift this is the action your chest is doing when lifting weight heavey or light. Sam didnt say i couldn't do them but he did say he didnt reccomend it and in the end it was my decision so i decided to avoid them as i for one can't afford revision surgery .
Sorry if this concerns you and i dont mean to offend if i did . In the end best speak to Sam and get it srtaight from the horses mouth, PS i am back to doing everything other than the above mentioned exercises and i slowly increaded my weights over a oeriod of 2-3 months and am now back to my pre BA weights??

RevisionGirl reacted to I HaveBoobs in Side Boobs
Hi love. Im a PT & teach 3 pump classes a week and i avoid doing heavey weight chest exercises, flys, dips and only do push ups with knees directly under my hips as all these exercises activate the chest to much and as your chest muscles become stronger they will push your implants laterally out to the sides creating a wide gap within the cleavage, the only way to fix the problem is to have surgery to fix your pocket and lift more of your chest muscle off your chest wall . I have anatomicals and my PS was aware of my job but made a point to say that overly engaging the chest muscles over a period of time will cause lateral dispacement, i also avoid chin ups as well and i modify my tricep push ups. How long have you noticed this happening and do you do any of the exercise above but not modified and if so try modifying them to prevent it from getting any worse. ?

RevisionGirl reacted to misstons in Unsure about sizing :(
Just because you had an okay result with a cosmetic surgeon does not mean you should be recommending them over a PS and stating one isn’t better than the other. Because that is a load of BS.
If you are happy to put your body into untrained hands - that’s fine. But don’t mislead people and pretend there’s no difference. Jesus.
Sure, people may get a nice result with a GP (cosmetic surgeon). But they aren’t trained as a plastic surgeon is. Otherwise they would have the same title (duh)
So please actually do your research before telling us all your wrong info. Thanks

RevisionGirl reacted to Tori14 in Revision Melbourne help
@RevisionGirl have you seen any of his before and after photos for revisions similar to your own? That could help you feel more confident in choosing him. For my own issue with asymmetry, I looked mainly at surgeon's experiences with the same issue and what I saw they had achieved in the past for patients like me before making my decision.
From what you are saying, under the muscle definitely sounds like a good plan to reduce chance of capsular contracture and eliminates issue with seeing edge of implant at the top or rippling, so his plan sounds pretty good did he mention if there would be issues with changing implant pocket in this regard? You could ask him for specific examples of previous cases where he has done this before?
I have a pretty small frame and I am also going rounds under muscle - I was initially concerned these would not look as natural but when placed under the muscle they flatten out at the top as long as you don't go too big! and then you also don't have the added concern of any issues with implant rotation in the future.
Overall I would say if you are feeling confident with Mark as a surgeon then that is a great but if you are feeling rushed and not ready then maybe have a further consultation with him to ask all your questions and ease your mind?
