  1. See below for latest post from Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons regarding the latest information regarding ALCL. Ive asked permission from the authors to repost the journal article here for you to read. I will update if we get approval. "The latest paper on BIA-ALCL was published yesterday in the @aestheticsurgeryjournal_asj with some new and interesting conclusions. Non-certified physicians (they call themselves ‘Cosmetic Surgeons’), despite performing the minority of breast surgery operations, were responsible for 73% of cases of BIA-ALCL.A non-certified
  2. I have been liaising with a cosmetic surgeon in Cairns who does not have any direct experience correcting tuberous breasts, which i've since decided not to go with her because of her inexperience and poor contact and communication with her office ( for example, not having emailed replied to at all or waiting 3 months for contact ect.. ect) I got my photos sent to medicare and waited 8 months for approval ( has anyone else experienced waiting this long for their photo assessments to be approved, or to get word on them?) Nevertheless, it was approved and these are the item numbers i receive
  3. Hey Girls, Hello to all the old crew that remember me, and hi to all the newer site members Bit of a long post, but hope it's helpful for SA girls, as there is so little information out there on Adelaide surgeons. I've not been on here in nearly a year, but am currently sitting in a hotel room in San Diego, USA, day 9 post-op after reconstructive surgery with Dr Pousti. As an RN of twelve years, who has previously worked in plastics (now emergency) I know my sh*t, and have, unfortunately had dealings with most of Adelaide's plastic surgeons, and some interstate, international surgeons too, d

  5. Hi Aesthetic Seekers I've been wanting to ask this for a while. I'm temped to increase the bridge of my nose and reshape the tip, and from my research the best option is to get cartilages from my rip and implant them into my nose. Just wondering if the change that will be brought about from this procedure is permanent? Assuming the surgery is successful, do I need to have a second maintenance procedure 10 years later because the rest of my face has changed, and my nose didn't or something like that... I have also heard that donated cartilage from cadavers would cause complications
  6. Hi all, this is my first ever post. Im looking at getting a BA later this year, my problem is I have tuberous breasts. I have so far seen three different surgeon, Dr Szalay, Dr Harwood and Dr Richardson. I loved Dr Harwood, unfortunatly he is unable to do the BA for me. I saw Dr Richardson, who has suggested textured round, high profile, dual plane, the only issue was he gave me 500 cc impants to try, I just did not feel 100% comfortable. Im only 166cm and 65kg, 500cc feels like im going going to look like Jordan and plain stupid. Im wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for surgeon I
  7. I'm 18, I've had trouble breathing through my nose for years. I went to a local ENT and had my terbinates reduced, and then 9 months later he suggested I also have a septoplasty (neither helped). So now I'm stuck with a huge nose that doesn't even work I'd appreciate any help about costs, personal stories, surgeons, how long the whole process took, results.. I don't have private health insurance, to be honest I don't really understand what type of cover I need. I'm totally lost and I don't have anywhere to start. I'm keen to get this process started so any help would be truly apprec
  8. Hiya ladies, Im super confused with some info re BAs. I have seen 2 Drs who gave me different advice. Im only short (5.2ft) and very fit (so not skinning but more toned) and wanting natural looking breasts. Im currently a 12a and ideally woul dlike a 12 full B or small C. The first Dr i saw was Dr Lee who suggested I get a 275cc round high profile, then Dr Briggs suggested a 255cc tear drop.... sooo confusing! Just wondering if any of you have had fantasic results with Briggs? Im leaning more towards him as he was extremely professional and didnt rush me through the consultation (which
  9. Hi to everyone, I just wanted to let you know that there have been a few changes on here recently. I have tried to make the forum simpler to use by cutting out all the sub-forums and having just the core forum discussion headings. I am hoping that this will make it easier to view posts and interact with each other. I would also like to let you know that I am working on getting more plastic surgeons involved in the website by approaching those that are well respected in their field and allowing them to contribute to this website through providing photos, advice and perhaps (if we can find
