Zoey23 59
Hi ladies! I am 9 DPO today. My MIL was supposed to stay 14 days, but had to leave. I was by myself with a sick 17 month old all day, and as much as I tried to avoid lifting him, I couldn’t completely do so. I will also be by myself tomorrow. Friday- Sunday I’ll have help. My concern is how sore I am this evening. Is it just overdoing it? Does starting my cycle have an effect? I am. It in extreme pain, just sore. Like a little less than I if did chest day at the gym sore. Have I ruined anything??

I know it's hard with a sick little one, but try to avoid lifting him if you can or try to minimise the strain on your chest if you absolutely have to - get him to put his arms around your neck and legs around your waist, that way you are not putting all the stress on your chest muscles. Also, don't do any housework or laundry - can you hubby/partner help out until the weekend? Your cycle may make you more sensitive to pain - so that won't help how you're feeling, also it may make you a little emotional. Try to rest as much as you can and you'll start to feel better again and the pain will ease up... take care xo I HaveBoobs

Yes, my hubby said he would take care of cleaning/kitchen etc. My son isn’t old enough to get in/out of the crib on his own, so I will have to lift him at least 3x tomorrow, but I’ll try to use just my back and arms, hold him close and not out. I might get my 5 year old to climb in the crib and hand him up to me. She’s pretty good at that. Luckily I’ll have help the 3 days following! You made me feel better, thank you! sabP and I HaveBoobs

I only had help the first 4 days and then my hubby had to go back to work. Im in the same boat as you with little ones, we have 4 under 7 and the youngest is 15months. My surgeon said that he understands sometimes lifting can't be avoided but keep it to a minimum, he said I wouldn't do any damage to implant as such just be more sore. I got a little set of step ladders and guided my baby in his cot on his own (he found very amusing ?) and then helped him climb out. When our oldest was home from school he did all the other lifting in and out of highchair, bath ect. Im now 3wks po and I feel like a could run a marathon! I've had a very easy recovery. I hope apart from being sore your recovering well! Zoey23 and I HaveBoobs
pink butterfly 1,509
It is hard when you have littlies. As the other ladies said above, try to not lift your 17 month old too much. Put a towel on the floor and change his nappy there. If the pain becomes excruciating, definitely call your surgeon. But I think you probably have just over done things. pink butterfly 1,509
How are you feeling today, Zoey23?
BAM 62
Oh that’s hard. At 17 months you might be able to encourage bub to climb into your lap. Like you say, asking bubba to hold your neck tight and holding their body very close to yours and using your back and knees to lift may help. Take care. I changed my little on the floor each time yesterday, and picked him up as little as possible. I also forced myself not to clean as much as I did the day before, and left it for hubby to do. I’ll be with family all weekday and the grandparents aren’t going to let me hold him anyway. pink butterfly, I HaveBoobs, BAM and 1 other
