Hi all,

I have a consultation booked in with Dr Alistair Taylor from caps clinic in Canberra tomorrow to enquire about breasts augmentation. I've heard mixed things about him so wondering if anyone has had breast implants done by him and what you're experience was?

Apparently his consultation is quite quick then you get sent to the nurse who does the sizing and pricing? What are people's thoughts or experiences with this?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey hun, sorry I can't help. I'm in Perth. However, if your surgeon has mixed reviews, then think carefully. Is he a cosmetic or plastic surgeon? Plastic surgeons have years of qualifications and training for their job and cosmetic surgeons are literally a GP with a scalpel. You need to do more research, don't just go with the first surgeon you see - especially if he does not have excellent reviews. Do a search on the threads on this forum for that surgeon and other Canberra surgeons and make sure you make an informed choice. This is major surgery and you want to make sure you are in the best most capable hands. xo

Hey hey,

I am from Canberra and a few of my friends have had various breast procedures by dr. Taylor. My comment on his work would be his incisions are not as small as what they should be. His scarring is often quite noticeable and large and I have had a friend that lost her nipple after recently having a breast reduction with him. However, in saying that I have seen some very nice results but I wouldn’t personally take the risk with him.

When I had my BA I drove from Canberra to Sydney and went with dr tavakoli and I have had no regrets... I wasn’t satisfied with any of the surgeons here as they don’t get consistent results.

Hey there kimba,

Thanks for your response! I really appreciate it!

It is concerning some of the experience you mention you friends have had with him.

I had my consultation with Dr taylor last week and didn't find him to be genuine or give me confidence in his surgical ability. I felt rushed through my consultation with him and was surprised when he palmed me off to the nurse for sizing and pricing. I thought at least with doing the sizing and what shape implant would suit best, that he would be the one to go through that with me.

I've looked at possibly going to Sydney but the large number of options I found quite overwhelming! Guess it's something I may need to reconsider. I have a consultation with Dr tonk ( not sure if you've heard of him) soon so will see how that goes.

Thanks again!

Hey sabP,

Thanks for the advice, I've definitely been doing research and looking at all options. Dr taylor was the second surgeon I have seen so far and I have a third consultation coming up next week. Hopefully from there I can make the right decision. Thanks again!
