MellieMoo 17
Hi ladies, I'm booked to have surgery with Dr Kollias in October and he has recommended 450cc round high profile over the muscle (subfascial) Has anyone recently had surgery with Dr Kollias and had subfascial/overs?? Never considered overs and concerned about the after effects? any help would be appreciated thanks in advance ?
margaretriver 20
Hi @MellieMoo! I didn’t go with Dr Kollias in the end but had a consult where he recommended overs to me too. The surgeon I did go with also recommended overs (just different implant type) but u had read as long as you have greater than 2cm of breast tissue, That’s sufficient to cover them. I had 3.5. Dr K didn’t measure me specifically, just did a pinch test. I’ve got overs - 2wpo and can’t see the outline. I think if u can have them u should, I really wanted to avoid breast animation, plus wanted a smoother recovery. Initially post op it’s not been great but overs will have you returning to your preop lifestyle quicker. If you’re concerned you should get a second opinion. I was booked in with Dr K but cancelled after a second opinion but not due to anything he said or recommended. There are others that have used him on here and love him too and I think you will get great care and great outcome with him as equal to what any other reputable PS. He is also about $2k cheaper than PS I saw (dr cooter). Good luck. Pm me of you have any qns! ? cheetah and MellieMoo 1
simply_me 26
@MellieMoo I just had surgery with Dr Kollias last week, I didn't get overs but I did get 450cc round dual plane and I am extremely happy with my results as are so many other girls that have used him, I understand your concern but i don't think you would be disappointed with him at all he really knows his stuff and I haven't came across anyone with a negative thing to say, he wouldnt recommend it if he didnt think he could give you amazing results. Just to ease any doubts you have get a second or even third opinion I think you will find the recommendations very similar if you see reputable surgoens, which will hopefully ease your nerves and if they are the same I'd definetly stick to Dr kollias not because he is cheaper but just because his work is truely amazing the lower price is just a bonus. I could not speak highly enough of him, when other girls said same thing i had my doubts and thought maybe they just overly excited but now ive done mine i can definetly say the same.. His price also includes a night stay in hospital where the staff are absolutely amazing, worth every dollar. A nurse there was telling me how she thinks Dr Kollias must be a real boob man as his work is always fantastic and how she had a niece who travelled to Sydney and paid 19k to get hers done and they are no where near as good as what Dr Kollias does. cheetah, margaretriver and MellieMoo 2
cheetah 274
Hey @MellieMoo I have my BA done with Kollias around two years ago. I have been happy with the whole process and just like the others have said, so have several others I’ve spoken to. I believe Kollias is very conservative so in my opinion I think he would’ve made the decision which will give you the best option Good luck, very excited for you! Kit 31
Hi @MellieMoo, what after effects are you concerned with having overs? I had unders (dual plane) with Dr.K and would of loved to have been offered overs. I saw 2 surgeons and they both said I had no choice but to have unders due to lack of breast tissue. I think overs are great as such a speedier recovery and good if you go to the gym a lot.
MellieMoo 17
Hi @Kit i guess I was just concerned about the higher risk for capsular contracture with overs, Compared to dual, the rippling and also the fact that overs can look more "fake" than natural.
Kit 31
That’s fair enough @MellieMoo and what did Dr.K say about your concerns with overs?
MellieMoo 17
@Kit he mentioned the pros and cons to both but suggested overs due to me liking to excercise and the fact my pinch test was at 3 so said I had enough tissue to do overs. It wasn't till after the consult I started to question what I actually wanted. I probably should of researched a bit more and and spoke with others prior to my appt. I do have another consult appt booked, so il be able to discuss a bit more with him then. Thanks so much for all your input. I love this forum, it's so nice to be able to chat to people that have actually been through the process already and can give an honest opinion ? Kit
Kit 31
@MellieMoo, have you had a second opinion just for peace of mind? I consulted with Dr.Kollias and Dr.Cooter who both had very similar recommendations which made me feel better about sizing and profile of implants MellieMoo and margaretriver
RKN 2
Hey Ladies I am just starting my journey and just about to booking my first consultation with Dr Lam - Cranford House. I am interested in Dr Cooter as well but have heard he is a lot more expensive. Could I ask if anyone has had their BA done with are Lam? And what the total price inclusions were? Or the same for anyone with has done their BA with Dr Kollias or Dr Cooter? I am trying to work out out when I can expect have to saved for this as I am newly married, with a mortgage, renovating and we are upgrading one of our cars all at the same time! Just want to be realistic with my situation. @margaretriver @MellieMoo @cheetah @Kit Sorry ladies I’m new the the forum and didn’t realize I needed to tag, please see my message above if you have any info that could help me? simply_me 26
@RKN I had my surgery with Dr kollias almost 3 weeks ago I think his amazing and price very reasonable for a reputable plastic surgeon.. I got smooth round implants placed under muscle and cost me approx 9500 which includes night stay in hospital.. recommend him 100% very respectable surgeon lots of girls on here who have gone with him love their results and never hear anything but great things about him. Good luck with your choices RKN
Kit 31
Hi @RKN I had my surgery with Dr. Kollias and also consulted with Dr.Cooter. I had anatomical implants which are generally more pricey than rounds. Dr.K - $10,500 with overnight stay at St. Andrews Dr. C - $11,500 day surgery at Waverley House RKN
RKN 2
@Kit @simply_me Thank you so much ladies! You’ve helped me with the start of my BA journey! I think I will book a consultation with Dr Kollias as well to decide which doctor will be the best fit for me. How are you both liking your results? Has your recovery been smooth and as expected?
Kit 31
@RKN - Recovery as expected and very painful initially. I had dual plane placement and very, very tight chest muscles with little breast tissue so first night in hospital was absolutely horrendous. I could barely move my arms and my husband had to feed me dinner and also take me to the bathroom. Throughout the night I had continuous vomiting and had to be put on a drip. However by the next morning I was feeling a lot better and had re-gained enough strength to take myself to the bathroom thankgod! I am nearly 8 weeks post op and feeling really good. I can do most things but every now and then I feel an odd twinge or pulling sensation. I’m not sure if Iike my results as I ended up with a wider cleavage than expected which was due to my anatomy. I’ll reserve my juddgement until the drop and fluff has finished. Though every day they are looking better and edges of implant are softening up for a smoother transition. Even though may results are not what I was hoping for they are still 100% better than before!
simply_me 26
@RKN i had same placement as Kit but my recovery was alot smoother then hers and no where near as painful as i was anticipating. My right side was basically pain free from moment I woke up and had great movement my left was little more sore and movement on that side more restricted, day two was little more sorer but still not that bad didn't need help doing anything for myself thankfully lol.. laying down and getting up was little challenging for few days but if your proped up enough makes it easier.. I am very happy with my results but still early days so won't know for sure until they drop and fluff and I can see my final result but with how its going so far I'm confident I will be happy. RKN 2
@Kit I’m sorry your recovery was a difficult one, that’s interesting you say your cleavage is further than you anticipated, hopefully with D&F they will sit closer together. Glad to hear your doing much better, have you asked Dr Kollias about the twinge sensation? Is that normal? I’d love to know how you feel and the changes you have over the next weeks and months! As long as you are seeing them improve as they develop it sounds like it’s been successful! @simply_me it sounds like you’ve experience a really good recovery! That’s so good to hear! I know the D&F will be the exciting part! I’m looking forward to consultation and excited to progress with with my BA! So far are you happy with the results of your surgery? It’s definitely early day, it must be exciting to know they’re only going to get better as the develop! Would love to hear how you progress over this time!
simply_me 26
@RKN yes I am very happy I didn't expect to like them as much as I do this early as I never liked the look of fresh done BAs, I realised I always liked them after the D&F process but he definetly exceeded my expectations

Hi @RKN, I have booked surgery with Dr Kollias for 26th October ? I have had 2 consultations now and I just felt really comfortable with him. He explained everything in full but I was a lil unsure about whether I wanted to go over or under muscle so I had a second consult at no charge and we discussed both in full and decided on dual plane 450cc smooth round High profile. Dr.K was very responsive to my emails and I never felt like I was rushed at my appointments. He doesn't promote his work coz his priorities are cancer patients (something I admired) but he did show me photos of his work and they look amazing! Im yet to have my surgery as I mentioned but I am pretty excited as I have a lot of confidence in him as per a lot of other girls on this forum. As the other girls mentioned, the surgery is a competitive price at $9'500 which includes overnight stay in hospital. Let me know how you go! When are you thinking of having surgery? RKN 2
Hey @MellieMoo your BA is around the corner now! That must be an exciting feeling! I hope it all goes well! it sounds like you’ve had a great experience with Dr Kollias, i would definitely want my PS to be responsive and helpful, I have never had any kind of surgery before so that would make a difference to me. He does sounds great! Your choices for your Ba sounds good too, what cup size are you trying to achieve? I definitely want a natural shape and to be proportionate to my body/frame. I have an slim athletic build and am hoping to achieve a larger C cup, possible a small d cup I’m still not sure. I am an A cup currently and the thought of a D cup sounds crazy to me but I have been looking at a lot of pre&post BA photos and the girls with similar build to me actually look very well proportioned as a post op D cup. Thank you for sharing your pricing, that’s a big help for me! I have my first consultation booked with Dr Lam - at Cranford House, have you heard any feed back from his work? If I don’t feel comfortable with him Dr Kollias is my next appointment. Im thinking of having surgery before the end of the year November / December. I would have liked to book in for early October as I already have leave at the end of the month going to Bali but I’m also not keen on flying post op and showering in unclean water, so I think once I’m back from that trip will be best. Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your experience so far, good luck! I’d love to know how your recovery goes! Xx MellieMoo
