Pain after Breast Lift & Augmentation

Recommended Posts

Feeling a bit crappy today...2 weeks post op from my breast lift and augmentation and struggling bit with pain. Wondering how long it's going to take to turn the corner? First week seemed easier to handle (lots of pain meds) but this 2nd week has been a struggle...by the end of the day my chest is aching and I need to lay down. I don't think I've been doing too much but I'm not sure. I don't work and my husband is at home with me taking care of kids etc I am just pottering around really. My next check up with Drs is Friday...how much longer till pain starts to subside without pain meds?????

Recovery is a hard journey and everyone is different. I only had a BA (no lift) and it took me about 3 weeks to start feeling better. For me, it was breast pain as well as severe upper back pain from the weight of my new additions.

I know it’s hard but try to be patient, it will get better soon x

Hi @Nic#460cc, you have had some pretty major surgery, so I would say your post op pain is quite normal. I only had implants and was still taking regular panadol for quite a few weeks after. I stopped the prescription meds after 7 days.

Maybe your surgeon can prescribe some different/more pain relief to help make your recovery abit more comfortable. ?

Hey hun, it's perfectly normal to feel up and down and crappy and good, it's all part of the healing and recovery process :) I didn't have a lift and I'm sure that having both a lift and implants makes the recovery longer and more painful, so I do feel for you.

if you feel you need to lay down at the end of the day go with it - just listen to your body and rest when you need to. Two weeks is still very early days and I promise you it will get better. Take it easy, appreciate that your husband can take time to help with the kids and give yourself the time and space to recover. You have had really major surgery and it will take a bit longer for you to start to feel normal But it will happen. Take it one day at a time and be patient and kind to yourself. We are here to offer you support whenever you need it xoxo

Hang in there. It’s funny as we all feel we should bounce back quicker than we do as we are all pretty active people! Rest up while you can, as others have said, it’s still early and your surgery was significant. It took ages for my body to metabolise the drugs too. I looked pregnant for s solid 10 days! We are all so different in the end xx

Everyone recovers diffrently and yes the surgery can knock it out of you by the sounds of things it sounds like your not over doing it its just your body's way of saying remember to take it easy , porrering around can sometimes tire you out , the ach's and pains will get better soon be kind to yourself and try to be patient, hoping you feel better soon.
