Do they feel like yours?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking last night that what if my implants always feel like foreign objects in me? This isn't a question that comes up often in my searches so I was wondering if I could get some insight from you lovely people. When do your boobies start to feel like yours, and not something foreign? Or will they always feel foreign?

It took a while for my mind to accept my new boobs. I was really flat chested prior to my BA. I went from a 10AA to a 10C cup. I also found it was a bit of an emotional journey too with accepting this new part of my body. I found by the 4th month mark I began to feel my boobs were a part of me. I am now 4 years post op and I could not imagine going back to being flat chested. My advice would be to just give things time - the body is healing and the mind is accepting the new you. x

For me it took a good 6 months when they started to soften to really start to feel like mine. I find its different for everyone some feel that they feel natural straight away and some in a few weeks /months and some up to a year , for me i think it took longer because of all my years training, teaching classes and competing (must of had very tight chest muscles )

Hi devibear,

I have to say, I go back and forth. Yes they are a part of me, but I am always aware that they are 'fake' boobs, I also lost sensation on the outer third of my breast and most of the sensation in my nipples, so that also makes them feel like they aren't mine. When I tense my chest muscles any time throughout the day I am reminded of the implants. To me lately more and more I feel like I no longer want them inside me and want to go back to my natural breasts because I worry they are affecting my health also.

Sorry, I hope this doesn't dissuade you, everyone has a different experience

Mine absolutely felt weird and foreign to me at first and for quite a long time I'd say! Especially in the beginning when you're checking them all the time, getting used to the extra weight/shape, changing silistrips and constantly checking the scars. A few years later and I often totally forget I have breast implants though.
