Ok so I'm done and dusted. sitting in the second stage of recovery with a cup of tea and crackers. sore and swollen and generally woozy. There already bruised too! I have big ice packs on already. if I'm sore now I can only imagine how the next few days will feel. Unfortunately I'm allergic to codeine/morphine etc so I'll be discharged with panadol and nurofen! I'm going to have to put on my big girl panties and just suck it up. This morning i was freaking out about picking the right size between the 300 and 330 but in the end dr R said, let's go 330 ive asked ever4 points -

will do! when is your surgery and who are you seeing? ********************************************************************* I'm SO excited for Monday! Still anxious about the pain but will be sure to keep my meds up and hopefully that does the trick. Going shopping now for post-op necessities. On the list: 1. Wedge Pillow (read on another post, will help me sleep propped up with better back support than piling up pillows) 2. Ice Packs for rotation 3. Wireless bras in various sizes, return those which don't fit 4. Fruit and Veg 5. herron sennesoft to prevent digestive b3 points -

Well done @Viv @missboobies @New girl can't wait to see some progress photos. Quick question, has anyone stayed at The Boulevard Hotel next to East Sydney Private? We are staying there for one night after my surgery (tomorrow night). @KittenLover @Ruby2015we are up next!!! I'm so nervous ?2 points -

Swollen sternum
New girl and one other reacted to Moon Child for a topic
I had swelling in my sternum that lasted aaaagggeeees! It had gone down everywhere but there and i must have had it right up to week 8. I was convinced it was symmastia but eventually it went down. Keep and eye on it. It's an area that can take quite a beating during surgey, and its basically just bone and skin so it makes sense that it would take longer to go down than the rest.2 points -

How did you choose your ps?
BAExcitement75 and one other reacted to Suki for a topic
Tbh, I don't trust the online reviews at all- the ones without pictures anyway. I tried on and off for close to a decade looking at online reviews and was never confident enough to choose by that alone. In my case, a friend of a close friend was having hers done by a ps recommended to her by someone who actually worked in the plastics industry for 15+ years. He was the only person they would recommend (and didn't work for him either) and gave good reasons why. There was no agenda or "selling" angle to this recommendation, so I felt I could trust the information and used the same ps. I did2 points -

Hi Lauren nice to see you! Who's your surgeon? Ice packs, wedge pillow, extra wire-free bras (Kmart have them for only $10! I'll take a pic and share if anyone is interested), stool softeners.. I think I'm good to go! Hubby has been worded up about cooking every meal and possibly having to get me up out of bed etc. We don't have kids so that makes everything much easier. Just have to make sure the cats dont jump on me - they are an energetic pair! Two more sleeps!!2 points -
I know its early in your recovery, but I think it's a great feeling when you take that first photo and look at it. We ladies have this surgery because it's something that we want, whether it's to improve our self esteem, if we havent developed the way we had wanted, or to give us back our figure after breast feeding, I think we all know that feeling you get when you look in the mirror or at your photos.....??❤️2 points

That's incredible that your doing so well, everybody is so different & your living proof! Your very lucky. How have you been sleeping, I'm worried I'll struggle, I'm not the best sleeper at the best of times. My PS & I decided on 300 mod profile plus overs, however the nurse called me yesterday and advised she ordered a couple of different options for the day - arghhhhhh.1 point -

I had swelling and my sternum is still lifted 5 weeks Po, Good luck it should go down with time it's normal1 point
-
Freaking incredible! I'm still waiting for the actual pain to kick in, so far it's been completly manageable. I'm very swollen, my breasts my sides and my sternum. I'm using lots of ice packs (bags of peas) to help with the swelling. I'm sure the incisions will be sore in the next few days especially when they remove my dressings. I have 330's under. 20th is so close! Very exciting. What size are you getting?1 point
-
I had heaps of swelling on my sternum and under my arm pits after my BA. It was that bad I thought something was wrong. But I held ice packs against the swelling and by about day 6-7 it had subsided. I also felt so tight my shoulders were hunched forward and wouldn't go back! Hopefully it's only temporary for you ?1 point

Thanks @ab1990 I've just come back from shopping with a Lorna Jane bra and now I've ordered a triumph traction seam free crop online on your recommendation. It seems my new boobs won't fit into anything with a 'cup' very well. They are a C width but a B depth (and an A look in my opinion). Crop tops work though if I get a small1 point

Def not too old! I'm 34 and had my 360hp anotomics replaced yesterday for rounds. I went smaller to 330mp and had a lift at the same time. I'm way to swollen to get a good feel of how they look. I have a friend in her 40's who has 520cc rounds and they look bloody fantastic. I'm sure you will too.1 point

It's all normal to second guess yourself . I was looking back on pre op pics which I still can't seem to upload for some reason but anyway I remember thinking they were not that bad just before surgery . Now I look back and think , who was I kidding !!!!. Seriously not one regret , even if I get cc now I will still think it was all worth it . I would d it again in a heartbeat. It has done so much for myself esteem , it's unbelievable . You know what people get knee replacements , hip replacements heart stents put in etc. but for some reason as soon as you go getting a boob replacement (1 point -

Hi ladies!!! I have just popped back online to see everyone's progress and do a little update as I'm now 5 weeks post op. So happy to see others having such a positive experience with Dr Birch and TBI!! My recovery from surgery has been really great and the support from the whole team at TBI has been amazing. It has always been made clear that they are there for you 24/7 with Dr Birch's mobile number and one of the reception ladies mobile numbers in case I had any crazy questions or concerns or needed reassurance those first few crazy days after surgery.. I am so happy with my result, it is1 point -
I'm prone to sagging though. I sagged after weight loss, had a ba only when a lift should have been done, sagged even more, had a lift and switched to partial unders, second lift on right as it didn't lift enough. The lift held up so well I think I fell pregnant 2 - 3 years post revision. I've been told my skin is really stretchy so things like weight loss, pregnancy, etc will affect me. Dont be nervous. Some women have little to no changes. You may be one of them. Also even though I hate my boobs they can always be fixed and it really is worth it.1 point

I have been sleeping on a bed wedge for the past 2.5 weeks, best thing I ever bought. I thought it'd be easier than having to sleep on stacked pillows and I was worried about getting a sore back. Have all your meds in a little bowl near your bed ready to go in the middle of the night. I found I was waking up around midnight in pain for the 1st week and having the meds there next to me made life easy. Get your kids prepared. With mine I told them I was having an operation on my chest and I'd be very sore and I couldn't lift them up anymore, especially my youngest one they have been1 point

Hi too old at 33 ! Are you kidding . Your in your prime girl. I had my BA at 45 last year 450cc rounds . See my pics , you can judge for yourself but no one has noticed I have implants . I love the upper pole fullness . I could of gone bigger in the XHP 520c. but I think I would of defiantly looked like big fakes then , not that there is anything wrong with that look if that's what your after. I wanted the upper pole fullness while still looking more natural . I can See I get the look of "are they or arent they at the gym ?" (mostly by women) Anyone that I have told said they wouldn1 point -

Un-decided reacted to Itty bitty for a topic
Day 7 I felt great, day 8 even better and have felt wonderful ever since. Got the all clear on day 7 to change sleeping position so I think that helped. I also have 4 children and hubby had to go back to work so I had no choice but to get up and get active. I'm now day 11 and heading back to work Tomoz, I've already had a little night out with the girls (work colleagues and boobies) which helped me feel more human. I do however think I've got some brain fog from the GA as I'm extremely forgetful and anyone who knows me knows I usually forget nothing so hoping that improves with time. Here1 point -
BA prices roughly
Sportsgirlwantsboobs reacted to AlanaJ for a topic
It really does vary. My first BA 10yrs ago was only $7700 all up with a Plastic Surgeon. He was also free consultations too, so no hidden costs. Only extra cost I had was buying my post op bra. I recently had a removal, capsulectomy & replacement done by another Plastic Surgeon (as my original surgeon has retired) & his price was just under $14000 ($12300 after Medicare rebates). Again, free consultations & he gave me 2 post op bras as well. So far I've had no extra or hidden costs. I imagine my newest surgeon, Dr Patrick Tansley, may be cheaper for a first time BA thou1 point
